On Friday, November 14th 2008, the long awaited Trailer of Celetania will be released.
In that movie you'll learn about the history of the ancient Celetanians, and also gain an insight in to the duties and tasks which await you as an emperor in the universe of Celetania.
Today we put a special update on our website: In a Technology Special we want to introduce the hard- and software which will bring the universe of Celetania to life.
Obviously trading outposts are the preferred choice of the Grogg when it comes to building structures in the orbit. But to neglect defensive structures for protection against raiders would be a fatal error and one that shouldn’t be made.

We are also proud to announce the release date of Celetania.
You will be able to control the fate of the Grogg or the S.E.C.C.T.S. in November 2008. Travel through the galaxies and observe the drifting of the Celetanians.

Our programmer team has been extended by 1 new member. This will allow us to raise the overall quality of Celetania one notch higher. This also means that we will be able to use our time to test and add small additions to the game which will yet again raise the overall quality for which we previously didn’t have the manpower.

Our ideological partner www.Omega-Day.de has announced that the 15. December is the beginning of a new round. We would like to encourage everyone that simply can’t wait the launch of Celetania to pass some time there!
Every now and then we are asked: On which graphical engine will Celetania be based? – or – Will I be able to play Celetania on my current hardware?
The Engine of Celetania is being developed within our house and won’t be bought from 3rd party developers. This is the only way to make certain that every aspect of the game is perfectly tuned and that we are able to offer an ideal mix of performance and graphical quality to the user. Because of this, our game designers do not have to compromise their ideas just because the game engine would not be able to support it. Everything is possible! Our software not only works on different platforms such as Linux and Windows, it also supports the older graphic cards and naturally the new super speed versions of these. We will be offering the customer the option of turning special effects off so that the older graphic cards will not suffer due to low performance and yet the newer graphic cards will be able to present the game with all of its glamour. This means that Celetania will be able to run on a large scale of platforms and hardware compilations.
Are you planning, with your cutting-edge technology, to also mobilize consoles of the next generation?
As a complex MMOG with a complex structure and strategy portion it is our opinion that the control with a game pad is bound with problems. Therefore we are currently not planning to expand the game on consoles, but we will definitely be experimenting with this type of mechanism.
Taking the screenshots as a reference, can we expect Celetania to have 8 races? No, this conclusion is unfortunately wrong. The conceptual arts you are able to view in the screenshots/development section, are drawings that we sketched but are not going to use in the actual game. Each one of the four races that will be available to the players, will be introduced separately at a given time.
Is there a reason that there is no Celetania forum yet?
Unfortunately the release of Celetania is an estimated time of two years away. This rather large timeframe makes the creation of a forum in such an early notice obsolete. At this point, we are able to answer the questions you may have through e-mails, with much less time involved, which ensures that the main stream of energy keeps flowing into the development of the game.
Applications:
We receive on a regular basis applications to join the team of Celetania. Please keep the following in mind: As long as we have no job openings (under Behind The Scenes / Jobs), we require that you include for what exactly you are applying! It is also important that you live in a surrounding region of our base of operations (see Imprint) and are over the age of 18. Unfortunately at the current time it is not possible for us to accept applications for trainees, which may change after the launch of the game.
Your empire exists 24 hours a day. A well designed artificial intelligence (AI), additionally to tasks that were assigned by you in advance, controls your empire while you are offline. You may pursue a goal by yourself, but the key to success is the interaction and working with the thousands of other players that also try to set foot in the universe. The one that manages to earn the respect and fear of friend as well as foe carries the key to success and fame in the end.
