Ship maintenance

Once you reach a certain number of ships, these will start costing you a certain amount of ship maintenance. This support payment reduces your income. An exact calculation of your ship maintenance can be found in the empire window.

The maintenance of your ships also depends on the race of your nation. You should try to keep your maintenance lower than your income at all times.

Hint:Ships that you don't need any longer can be disassambled. This will lower your ship maintenance and raise your effective income. Obviously the ships that you disassemble won't be able to protect your empire in a case of emergency.
