Space ships and stations can reach a higher rank by collecting experience in battles. Space ships with a higher rank have different advantages.

Carriers are able to contain more drones with a higher rank.
Other space ships cause more damage with every shot. Your morale on the other hand lowers the delay between two consecutive shots.
